Tasting: Arona Sauvignon Blanc
Name: Arona
Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Region: Marlborough
Country: New Zealand
Year: 2012
Price: $12.95
Shop Review: "Zesty ripe passion fruit and melon make this a true pleasure. Lovers of fruit-forward Sauvignon Blanc will revel in its fresh texture and subtle hint of grassiness."
My Review: This wine's scent immediately reminded me of asparagus and broccoli. Its nose definitely had earthy, vegetable components to it. The taste complemented its nose beautifully. Similarly, there was a strong taste of grass and spicy vegetables to this wine. I picked up distinct hints of bell pepper. Overall, this wine was interesting in both its nose and its taste, and I enjoyed the unique characteristics in its flavor.
I tasted this wine on its own without food.
