Tasting: Arnold Palmer Chardonnay

Name: Arnold Palmer
Variety: Chardonnay
Region: California
Country: USA
Year: 2011
Price: $20 (Sale: $5.95)

Shop Review: A vibrant Chardonnay from vineyards in cooler climates of California. Chardonnay is well known for its characteristic fresh apple fruit aromas and rounded, rich flavors. Weather during the 2011 harvest provided ideal growing conditions for lush, yet perfectly balanced fruit.

My Review: When I first sniffed this wine, it had a strong aroma of cat pee. However, I got more of a butterscotch scent with hints of citrus in the second sniff. When I tasted it, I was not surprised to have gotten hints of butterscotch on the palate. This wine was crisp with a bite to it that I enjoyed very much.

I tasted this wine on its own without food.
