Tasting: Villa d' Rossa
Name: Villa d' Rosso
Variety: Toscano
Region: Montepulciano
Country: Italy
Year: 2012
Price: $6.95
Shop Review: 100% sangiovese grapes and is a wonderful rendition of a velvety Tuscan red.
My Review: This wine had a true red color and I was excited to taste it. It had a strong berry smell on the nose with a distinct scent of tomato. When I tasted it, it wiped my mouth dry. It was bitter and hot and I imagine it was what nail polish remover would taste like. This wine seemed to lack a strong flavor, which was disappointing because I enjoyed its nose. It was alright, but it left more to be desired.
I tasted this wine on its own without food.
