88 Points, Robert Parker Review: The 2010 Legado Chardonnay Reserve is aged in French oak for 11 months. It has a light hazelnut scented bouquet with a touch of wild mushroom. The palate is medium-bodied with a beeswax and spice infused entry, crisp acidity and a phenolic, slightly over-worked but still intriguing finish of dried pineapple and honeycomb. Drink now-2015.
My Review: Upon first sniffing this wine, I felt that it was sour and somewhat musty. It was almost a sweaty wine, but not in a bad way. It was a full bodied wine, and I could sense the heat in this Chardonnay. I thought that it was almost salty tasting, which I enjoyed. It was packed with spicy flavor, yet still tasted fresh and pleasurable. I thought this wine was good, but it wasn't my favorite to date.
I tasted this wine on its own without food.
